Turkey Digital Nomad Visa: Requirements, Arrival Card & What a Consultant Actually Does

Turkey's Digital Nomad Visa 2026: real eligibility requirements, the new mandatory Digital Arrival Card (TRDAC), and what a visa consultant actually helps with.

Turkey's Digital Nomad Visa is real and active — here's what it actually requires, plus two things almost every guide skips: the new arrival card everyone needs regardless of visa type, and what "visa consultant" searches usually mean in practice.

Eligibility: age 21-55, a university degree, and foreign-sourced income of at least $3,000/month ($36,000/year). Eligible nationalities: EU member states, UK, USA, Canada, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland. India, Nigeria, and Kenya are not currently on the list — see our nationality-specific guides if that applies to you.

The process has two stages: apply online for a Digital Nomad Identification Certificate via Turkey's GoTurkiye platform, then take that certificate to a Turkish consulate to finalize the actual visa. The certificate alone doesn't grant residence — a short-term residence permit is what keeps you legal once you're actually in the country.

Separately — and this applies to every traveler, not just nomad-visa holders — Turkey has required a Digital Arrival Card (TRDAC) for all foreign entrants since May 1, 2025. It's a different thing from your visa or e-Visa: a mandatory online entry registration completed within 72 hours before arrival, replacing the old paper form. It's free, single-entry only, and you'll need a new one every time you re-enter.

On tax: digital nomad visa holders' tax residency and obligations are determined separately from the visa itself, based on how long you actually stay and where your income originates — this isn't a blanket exemption, and it's genuinely worth professional advice rather than guessing.
